Eating Mexican in Paris

Last time we were here we ate at an East Indies restaurant that didn't have a word for "mild" sauce. Today we found a Mexican restaurant in Les Forumes Des Halles that was really pretty good! Randy was worried he would have to go without Mexican food for three months. The missionaries are bringing over an investigator to eat dinner with us tomorrow. We didn't have the heart to tell them that I don't cook. ;o) There is pasta in France, so I'm okay.

Crazy day today! It took us two hours to copy, scan and email some documents at the MILK 24/24 7/7. It's an internet/business cafe that is fairly reasonably priced provided that you know how to use a French keyboard and remembered to bring your dictionary to translate all the instructions from French to English. Some words we knew, but not enough and the computer wouldn't recognize my thumb drive, so we had to go back to the apartment to get the documents off the thumb drive and email them to Randy so that we could then go back to the "cafe," open the emails, have the documents printed so we could sign them, then find the clerk again (mind you we had only paid for 30 minutes of computer time and she was gone for 15 minutes!), so we could have the docs scanned and emailed. We all fared well, considering the clerk spoke limited English and we spoke almost no business French. Just another cultural curiosity to navigate.

Tonight we are going to the French-made film "La Belle et La Bete." We hope it has English subtitles. It's a good thing we already know the BASIC story, but every director has their own interpretation of that story.

Randy just gave me an orange that we bought along with some other fruits and our red potatoes at the fruit stand. It's just like it's off the tree. I love Europe! Summer, make sure you take good care of Dad's orange tree at home, he's expecting big things from you! ;o)

Sorry it's such an uneventful day, but really, you wouldn't want the Universe to kill us off with TOO much drama, would you? Thanks for visiting our page. A bon soir. Jan
